Today I head Georgia & CIS regional branch of international hotel management company Hotel Collection International. In 2015, when searching for hotel management solution for one of my projects, I realized that the industry in Georgia lacks an experienced hotel management company, who would be able to share the contemporary industry’s know-hows and bring international hotel service and management standards to the franchised and unbranded hotels. This is when cooperation with HCI started, soon after, the company decided to expand their business to CIS and base the regional office in Tbilisi, headed by me. Company’s main focus lays in the regions of Georgia, where the company sets an ambitious goal to bring service level to the international one by recruiting and developing local people. Today, three years after opening the regional office, the company already has a portfolio of more than 500 rooms in 5 hotels, out of which 4 are in the regions of Georgia. My international experience in CIS countries lays in the hotel development, procurement and pre-opening – my portfolio counts a number of great projects under international brands and independently ran, such as – Hyatt Regency Dushanbe, Hyatt Vladivostok, Primore Spa hotel & Wellness Gelenjik, Hilton Doubletree Sochi and many more. Hence in the pre-opening processes of our projects within HCI I take the role of coordinating the pre-opening process and bringing my international experience to Georgian projects. My previous job for Capitol Holding assumed creation and development of the roll out strategy for the regional mid-market hotel chain development in Georgia. This is when an extensive study of regional markets has been conducted under my supervision and a program of “12 hotels in 12 regions” has been created totaling up to 600 rooms and creating workplaces in all regions of Georgia. Besides my main job, I developed a tailor-made course of lectures in tourism industry, whose goal is to introduce the future industry leaders to the insides and specifics of the market. I give this course in Agricultural University of Georgia.
