Judging Process

The WTG! National Tourism Awards follows a transparent, multi-phase judging process designed to ensure fairness, credibility and recognition of true excellence in the tourism industry.

  • Initial Assessment: all submitted applications are screened for eligibility and completeness by the organizing committee.

  • Expert Jury Evaluation: a panel of independent industry experts evaluates each entry based on defined criteria. Each jury member scores the nominees individually and confidentially, ensuring impartiality.

  • Industry Assessment: to ensure relevance, transparency and sector-wide recognition, the WTG! National Tourism Awards actively involves leading industry associations and unions in the evaluation process.

  • Mystery Guest Evaluation: as part of our commitment to fairness and quality, evaluation process also incorporates a mystery guest evaluation in selected categories. This process adds a practical, experience-based layer to the judging criteria by assessing nominees from the customer’s point of view.

  • Public Voting: eligible entries are published online for a nationwide public vote. Public voting contributes to the overall score, increasing visibility and engagement for nominees.

  • Combined Scoring: final scores are calculated based on a weighted system, combining all evaluation results. This ensures a balance between expert jury, industry and public opinion.

  • Final Review and Confirmation: organizing committee reviews top scorers for consistency, accuracy and eligibility. Winners are confirmed by WTG Board and announced at the Awards Ceremony.

The entire judging process is conducted with strict confidentiality and adherence to ethical standards. Jurors are required to declare any conflicts of interest and abstain from evaluating related nominees.
